Board of Education

Our Vision: All schools operate in a culture where all students are engaged in a rigorous and relevant curriculum and where all students are successfully learning.

Our Mission: To lead all Students to reach their individual potential by rigorously pursuing and evaluating achievement of high academic and ethical standards in a disciplined, nurturing environment.

Our Board of Education is comprised of five members, who are elected to four-year terms by voters within School District 51's boundaries. The Board members establish philosophy, policy and guidelines to ensure equal educational opportunities for all District 51 students. At all times our Board guides us and keeps us focused on student learning.

The Board of Education meets twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday at 6:00 pm.  Variations to this schedule may occur, and Special Meetings may be scheduled as determined by the President of the Board.  Please click on the Meeting Agendas & Minutes link on this page to view meeting dates, agendas and minutes.  Meetings are held at the Basil T. Knight Staff Development Center, 596 N. Westgate Dr.

Our Board has led us to the development of a new Long Term Plan, adopted in the fall of 2012. Read more about that here.
